The big one

News flash: da dadada dadada dadada

I'm 40 today

Just thought I'd share.

In knitterly news (and dyeing and spinning and designing) here's a photo of the first of a pair of fingerless mitts made from roving that I dyed and spun and navajo plied. I created my own design using basic elements from some basic glove/mitten patterns to strategically place increases and decreases and gussets and finger lengths precisely where I wanted them so the glove 'fits me like a glove'. Unfortunately, one of my lovely daughters has asked me to give them to her since they also fit her quite well. I think that will be okay with me. I spun 4 ounces of this yarn so I should have enough for two pairs.

Go check out my Etsy shop. I added a few yarns, a couple sock knitting bags and some gorgeous mohair locks that won't break the bank.

This is really great, very much in the Twisted Sisters spirit, I think.

I am going to be dyeing up small rolags of alpaca/wool. I just read back on your blog about that batt that you dyed. Any tricks?

Happy 40th!

Happy birthday! I was thinking this morning that I would make fingerless mitts with the yarn I dyed and spun this weekend. How much yardage did you get from 4 oz.? Thanks - I'm really new and still trying to figure this all out!

Happy belated birthday. Found you on the Twisted Knitters and wish I had found you earlier so I could encourage you to put more twist in your Rambouillet singles, but you probably did!

Later!

Hey there girl,
Welcome to the 40's club. Wish I could have been there for your birthday but we already had plans. I tried to leave early, but it went too long. We will celebrate soon though.
Hey, I visited your etsy shop today. I really like your fabrics. Maybe I will buy some for Kayla. She has started sewing again. Actually she is teaching a younger child.
Love you. Mia
