Dyeing Batts
I got a whole bag full of little one ounce batts at Oregon Flock and Fiber this weekend. I just got this idea in my head that I needed to dye batts. Here's my first one and I have to say, it is pretty cool. I have the tools necessary to keep the batt perfectly flat while it steams and rinses...Lost a couple of hours of sleep laying awake figuring out that little issue. It dryed extremely fast although I have to admit there were a few little droplets of water still in it when I started spinning it last night. I'd never spun a batt and it is a very different experience than spinning from combed top
which is what this newbie spinner does most. All said, I'm very happy with the dyeing of this batt and I have 24 more that will be dyed shortly and put up for sale in my little Etsy shop.
Just an FYI, these batts are from a Merino/Targhee sheep and are completely non-prickly to my sensitive neck.

Can't wait to see it on etsy - have been visiting your shop regularly looking for goodies! Hope your trip was good. Ours was lovely - I actually started my pomatomus in your gorgeous mykonos blue colorway whilst in Mykonos(well, had to be done!). Unfortunately I haven't been able to post any pictures as blogger has lost my blog and am desperately trying to get them to recover it.
beautiful...I'll be watching your etsy shop for more colorways!
