long time no blog

Today is the first day of summer break for all my kiddos. We got through another school year and move on to the next one with a senior, a freshman, a seventh grader and a 5th grader. Next year they'll be in four different schools in two school districts. It will be a nightmare intereresting.

This week has been busy so I haven't posted but I'll give you an update of all the knitterly and otehr things I've actually accomplished.

1. Frogged and restarted Mim's Icarus 3 times! I love this shawl but it seems that allergy medicine and lace knitting don't go together.

2. Sold a couple hand dyed yarns from my etsy shop and dyed a few more. Just need to motivate and get them posted.

3. Completely cleaned/reorganized/packed away a bunch of stuff my sewing/crafting area. I think I packed away about 8 or nine LARGE rubbermaid totes of fabric. I haven't been in the mood to quilt for about 6 months so I decided to organize it and put it in an accessible place. The dust was thick due to being surrounded by fiber and living in the country. My sewing/crafting area is half our main living area so it gets a ton of traffic from the kiddos and me and collects ungodly amounts of dust. I sneezed my way through and now its mostly clean. Be proud of me! I am.

That's it. That's all I've done this week. I'm happy with what I accomplished and now that messy room is no longer looming over me asking me to organize instead of knit. Now I can knit in peace. Allergy season for me will end around July 4th and then its time to get ready for the mission trip to Mexico which will put us into August when it will be time to get ready for another school year. Life just keeps plugging away one day at a time in a not so bad way.
