Black Sheep Gathering!

Yesterday I took Thing 2 and Thing 3 (those would be my dear daughters, ages 12 and 14) to the Black Sheep Gathering in Eugene, Oregon. I had never been to a fiber/sheep show before. It was a good day and they didn't get too terribly bored. In fact Thing 2 got supplies to learn to needle felt and Thing 3 got a spindle and learned to spin. I also got a spindle for Thing 4 (age 10 son) and taught him to spin when we got home. I started him on some merino and he had a terrible time getting it to make yarn since he kept felting the fiber with his dirty sweaty hand. I only bought slippery stuff at the show so I had to pull off a little of my lilac Corriedale top that I've been learning on. He's doing better with that but has used it up and I won't give him more. I need to get him something that's more appropriate to learn with than the Merino. Maybe we'll get to go back to the show tomorrow. Thing 3 is doing really well with her spinning and make a pretty even bulky yarn. She got some wool mix (Merino, Targhee, Romoulet) to play with.

Tomorrow is Thing 1's 18th birthday so today is the big paintball party (12 teenage boys weilding paint filled guns running all over our 20+ acerage). It should be fun but make for an eventful weekend.

Pictures of everything eventually, I hope. (If I don't get too distracted)
